PropStopper (Patented)
Safety Issue: Leaving the motor on or accidentally restarting the motor and backing into a swimmer while he is near the back of the boat.
Note: USCG accident reports show a significant amount of propeller strike injuries and fatalities occur while people are swimming near the back of the boat, or simply getting in or out of the water via the boarding ladder. Placards warn to ensure the motor is off, while using the boarding ladder. Unfortunately, too many accidents and fatalities happen during this simple maneuver.
Defense: PropStopper prevents accidental starting of the motor and ensures it remains off while swimmers are using the boarding ladder.
How it works: PropStopper integrates use of the boarding ladder to ensure the motor is off and remains off. Only until the swimming area has been secured, all occupants are accounted for and the ladder is properly returned can the operator start the motor. This may be the first device that truly ensures the boat operator follow safe boating practices and warning placards.
Installation & Use: PropStopper easily installs into the ignition system and is activated only when the boarding ladder is being used.
Recommended Use: PropStopper should be installed on any boat with a boarding ladder. You can also install the unit on any gate, door, or any access point you desire.
